Mãos que Criam
(It can translate as Hands on Creativity)

One of the fruits generated by the actions of the Community Fund in Mataraca (PB) is the group of women “Mãos que Criam”, formed in 2016.

This permanent project promotes female emancipation, through technical training of the workforce, by focusing on improving local crafts (crochet, embroidery, for example), in addition to socio-educational activities.

This group was the main actor in the project to make fabric masks in the community to fight the covid-19 pandemic. About 20 women had access to online training and supplies to learn how to sew fabric masks and sell them.

In addition to technical training, the project aimed to ensure access to protective masks and the possibility of generating income from sales, stimulating the economy and social responsibility.

Check out the video of one of the actions developed with this group of women throughout 2020.
