The Ciliary Reforestation Program was created to restore vegetation in the Permanent Preservation Areas (PPA) of HPP São Simão and nearby areas and is a fundamental part of the preservation and recovery actions on the reservoir margins.
Until 2020, SPIC Brasil planted 89,393 seedlings of native species – including Aroeira, Cedar, Jatobá and Ipê -, spread over 80 hectares.
In addition, another 89 hectares of areas reforested by the former concessionaire are in constant maintenance.
