For SPIC Brasil, the commitment to fight corruption must be present in spheres that go beyond politics and government in general. Corruption occurs in the act of evading taxes, in bribery to avoid the punishment of a fine, in the “questionable way” to get inside information, in the “story” that counts to get an advantage even if it is not material or financial and even when we omit the corruption of others.
Examples of impacts that corruption can cause:
- Business bankruptcy and unemployment
- Growth of social inequality
- Increased poverty and misery
- Precarious public system, such as education, health and safety
- Demoralization of institutions and the country
- Reduction of investments in the market, whether national or international
When we understand how harmful corruption is for the whole society (citizens and companies), we take an active position in the fight against unethical conduct, through the Integrity Program, which has been instituting internal regulations and disseminates the culture of integrity, by giving employees and third parties a voice on perceived irregularities, as well as by investigating the facts to mediate conflicts.
OUR OBJECTIVE IS TO PROMOTE AND CONTRIBUTE TO CULTURAL CHANGE AS A COMPANY AND SOCIETY. HOWEVER, FOR THAT, EVERY EMPLOYEE IS A FUNDAMENTAL PART IN THIS PROCESS, SO THAT WE CAN, TOGETHER, BUILD A BETTER SOCIETY.
Therefore, in cases where our employees find any irregularity that contravenes the rules established in the Anti-Corruption Policy, the SPIC Brasil Code of Conduct and Ethics or any other internal regulations, we encourage the use of the SPIC Brasil’s Ethics Channel, as when reporting, the employee contributes to the construction of a healthy and integrate environment.
